When it
comes to any kind of Endurance Sports your mind can either
be your worst enemy or your biggest asset. The Mind Set of a
David Blaine would push you to new limits in your
endeavours.
Neuroscientists believe that we have
thousands of thoughts running through our minds each and
every day, the majority of these being unplanned or random.
In your training we will teach you to become aware of your
thinking and decide whether these thoughts increase or
decrease your performance.
There
are two ways of thinking during sport, via Association of
Dissociation. Association promotes the thinking of internal
bodily sensations that occur, whereas Dissociation directs
attention away from these bodily sensations which in turn
reduces an athletes awareness of fatigue or pain.
By
putting all this together in training we can work on which
is best with you (although top athletes use a culmination of
both), and we will implement a 7 day mental diet plan to
help with irrational or self defeating thoughts that can
ruin performance.
