Anxiety is a manifestation of our instinctual fight or flight responses, bearing in mind that a small degree of anxiety in every day life is quite natural and normal. However when feelings of anxiety become uncomfortable, more intense, more frequent or last longer, then anxiety and fear interfere with everyday life - often quite severly.

The 'trigger' for these attacks can be quite specific (e.g. an event, person, animal, object etc.) or completely random. There are a wide range of symptons, ranging from mild anxiety, panic attacks, fears and phobias - with the effects lasting from seconds to weeks.

People who suffer from any form of anxiety experience it differently with combinations of the following physical and emotional symptoms:

  • Shortness of breath or a feeling of being Smothered
  • Heart Palpitations - Pounding or accelerated heart rate
  • Sweating
  • Nausea or abdominal distress
  • Dizziness, unsteadiness or faintness
  • Hot and Cold flushes
  • Trembling or shaking
  • Feeling of choking
  • Numbness, pain or tingling in hands, feet, toes etc...
  • Pain or discomfort in chest, upper back or shoulder blades

The causes of panic attacks and anxiety are many and varied and hypnotherapy is a powerful tool for providing coping skills (in the form of relaxation techniques).

Hypnoanalysis can alleviate symptons through suggestion work and uncover the original cause allowing a new understanding and help towards a better Life.
